San Francisco Portrait Photographer :: Point Reyes with Gladys Jem

I’ve been staring at these images for quite a while and I just can’t seem to think of the words necessary to describe Gladys. I met her when I first moved to San Francisco last summer, and we totally hit it off. She is beyond sweet, and went out of her way to make me feel comfortable in the city. She even shared a love for Hanson with me, and that ain’t easy to find at this age. We decided to head out to Point Reyes one day just to explore and challenge ourselves. Also, for the cows. We drove out there on an absolutely beautiful day, snacked at Cowgirl Creamery, and then ventured out into the pastures. There were cows, rolling hills, and green grass for miles around us. It was peaceful, and everything we could hope for. I knew Gladys is a fan of light, that gorgeous light right when the sun sets and shoots out rays of creamy pinks and oranges, but I didn’t know HOW much she loves light until that day. The shrieking and the giggling made me love her even more. She has so much love in her heart, and talent as a photographer, that it seemed surreal to me. There we were, two photographers, exercising our craft, and being open and honest about the emotions we feel as we capture memories. These are just a few from our afternoon together. I can’t wait until we do it again, Gladys.

Oh heyyyyy.

I just love this.

Gladys - Darn you, Ari! Now you have me all teary. I’m so glad I have a friend in the city that I can meet up with, shoot with, get neon nails with, eat and talk thai with, hang out and talk about anything and everything with. I heart you, and I’m so happy we’re friends. Now, let’s go to Jamaica! :) <3
